Class Activities
The day was spent getting to know Mr. Eastland. For any parents that are interested, my full name is Christopher Eastland. I was born in Waco, TX and raised in Whitney, TX. I was raised by my grandmother, Mary Alice Eastland. I graduated from Whitney High School in 2004. I attended Baylor University from 2004-2008. I graduated with a B.F.A. Theatre Performance degree. Two months later, I found myself in Allentown, PA as an intern for the Civic Theatre of Allentown. I stayed there for nine months building sets, answering phone calls, selling tickets, directing the children's show, and occasionally making a coffee run.

I moved to Dallas, TX in the summer of 2009. When I was younger, being an educator was something I was going to do later in life, but after directing the children's show in Allentown, PA, I decided that theatre education is where I needed to be. I talked to a friend of mine, got an interview, and was hired to teach middle school theatre arts in Grand Prairie ISD at Kennedy Middle School for the 2009-2010 school year. I taught at Kennedy for two years and loved every second of it! At the end of this past school year, I was transfered to Reagan Middle School and am enjoying my new home.

Besides being a middle school theatre teacher, I am also a professional director, actor, and designer in Dallas, TX. My nights are spent in rehearsal doing whatever I can to keep up with the times in theatre industry. I like to bring my experiences from the theatre past and present into my classroom to give your child the best theatre education possible. This past summer, I acting in Steve Martin's WASP in the role of Son for Upstart Productions. I also designed the set and costumes for Rite of Passage Theatre Company's production of The Love Song of the Albanian Sous Chef by Rob Askins.

I enjoy reading, writing, camping, running, eating, movies, theatre, music of all kinds, education, nature, and card games. If there is anything else that you would like to know or just talk about, I would be happy to be in contact with you. My email address is christopher.eastland@gpisd.org. You can also reach me at 971.522.7300, ext. 7330.

I am looking forward to this school year. It has started off extremely well! Thank you all for everything that you do. Here's to a great school year! GO KNIGHTS!
